Dear Student: 

The study of sociology is increasing throughout the world. In light of the incidents on September 11, 2001 social change is creating a growing demand for scientific analysis of human behavior and the application of sociological concepts and methods. 

 Sociology is a discipline that will examine how the world works based on extensive research and studies; there is no other area of work which overlaps with so many fields of knowledge. It is my hope that this course will convey the excitement of this discipline and convince you to take more courses in the field.
