I received my BS degree in Applied Sociology at Southwest Texas State
University (now Texas State University - San Marcos) in 1993, my MS in
Sociology from Iowa State University in 1995, and my Ph.D. in Sociology from
Iowa State in 1999. While in graduate school I concentrated in deviant behavior/mental health, and development/social change. I taught at Georgia Southern University from Fall 1999 - Spring 2006, and I have been teaching at Texas State since Fall 2006.
My teaching interests include deviant behavior, juvenile delinquency, criminology, and development. My research interests include policing in an international context, sexual violence, and the attitudes and behaviors of college students.
