Fearlessly be yourself!!
My name is Jimmy Esquibel and I am a senior at Texas State University-San Marcos. Upon completion of my internship, I will receive my bachelors of science in applied sociology and minor in psychology. I chose to intern with the amazing organization that is OutYouth Austin.

Interning with OutYouth Austin has been an amazing experience. I wish I could explain in words how my time here has been but I find it impossible to do. Seeing just how much work the staff and volunteers do here has been a true inspiration.
My
duties at OutYouth vary on the day. Sometimes I cut the
grass or have to look phone numbers for high schools across the state
of Texas.
I
do these things not because I am told, but because it’s the little
things that
keep this wonderful organization going. I do them with love and I don’t
mind it
at all. I have also led programs, helped with administrative duties,
and have
helped by just being someone the youth can talk to and trust. I
have also been sent out to universities and high schools to educate on
LGBTQ issues and talk about what it is like to work with LGBTQ
individuals. The two best things that I get to do at OutYouth is the
community outreach and programming.
Email me if you have any questions about OutYouth or my experience at the organization.
