The Ice Bats

My name is John Coleman, during the fall semester I have the opportunity to intern with the Austin Ice Bats.  I got this internship through the Texas State Sociology internship program.  The Austin Ice Bats Are a hockey team located in Austin Texas.  The Ice Bats are a part of the Central Hockey League.  The Bats play at Chaparral Ice located at 14200 N I-H 35.  The Arena Holds almost 2,000 fans if sold out.  To find out more about the Ice Bats there is a link at the bottom of the page.

My Duties

I work in the office and at the games so I have many responsibilities.  During a normal day at the Ice Bats I make flyers, do sales calls, answer the phone, and make excel charts to organize information.  I also print all the tickets and mail them or place them in will call the week before the games.  I take ticket orders and charge customers usually over the phone by credit card.  I also must enter in every order into our system , which is Frontgate Tickets so we do not sell the same ticket twice.  On other days I have set up VIP rooms, organized the office, dO maintenanceon seating, and delivered flyers to organizations.
