The Kenny Whitehead Internship Webpage


Hello everyone, my name is Kenny Whitehead Jr. and I am an Applied Sociology Major here at Texas State University. During my Summer 2007 Internship, I worked for Clear Channel Communications Radio. It was a great learning experience. As a intern, I took on many roles. I filed paperwork and made copies, created passes and promotional flyers for many events, contacted winners of radio contests, sat in with the on-air personalities during their shifts, sat in on the weekly station meetings and ran errands when necessary, among other things. An average day for me included getting to the station at 8am and putting in a full day's work, leaving at 5pm. I took this job because I have always had a healthy fascination with media and I went to work everyday eager to learn something new. Additionally, I enjoyed discovering new sociologocial relevance within the job, being able to apply what I learned at Texas State in a 'real world' environment. I encourage fellow students who share my interest in both media and sociology to skill out in internship in a news or radio station. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
