Welcome
to my internship webpage. My name is Rebecca Marshak and I am a
senior at Texas State University. I will graduate in December with a
Bachelor of Science in Applied Sociology. This semester I am working as
an intern at Aquarena
Center
as the Grant Specialist, Marketing, Outreach, and Special Events
Coordinator's assistant.
My internship experience has been very helpful in getting me hands-on
real-world job experience. My internship includes helping the special
events coordinator coordinate and implement Aquarena marketing plans. I
write short articles and press releases and take photographs during
special events or visiting groups. I designed a survey
to gather information that helps provide insight to the visitor's
perception of the quality of their visitor's experience, focusing on
specific items that will help make Aquarena a repeat destination and a
place they would refer other people to visit. I have assembled a
scrapbook of articles and media coverage of Aquarena event. I assist
with public outreach to promote opportunities to learn about and
participate in educational and recreational opportunities. I help
organize, promote and implement special events toward that goal. I also
follow-up when
possible to help Coordinator in developing partnerships, strengthening
support, and encouraging
participation in events
held at all Aquarena
facilities. I also helped my supervisor create a presentation for a
group of possible visitors.
