EMAIL RESUME TEXAS STATE SOCIOLOGY ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE

My name is Raechel Erenwert. I have been interning with Alamo
Drafthouse for the past month and a half. Over that span of time,
I have grown and learned much about the professional world.
My experience has been full of fun, hard work and rewards.
I
have been working with my site supervisor very diliently, and I have
come to learn much about how things work at the Alamo. Life is
stressful, interesting and always changing.
I have been working
in the Private and Corporate Events Department as an intern, but I have
also been training to be an event coordinator. This entails
planning the events, scheduling servers, corresponding with clients,
managers and staff, executing the events and following up with staff
and clients after the completion of the event.
Along with
those responsibilities, I have been composing a detailed inventory for
the South Lamar location, as well as being a point of control for the
other two Alamo locations, the Ritz and the Village. I have even
started creating checklists for each event to help aid in lessoning the
loss of the department's inventory.
With all of this, I have
also managed some other projects within the department. I have
created a couple of personalized catering menues for various events,
edited the department's marketing materials and shopped for various
props for the events, like items for a glamour shot's booth (it was for
a Napoleon Dynamite party).
This internship has shown me how
hard it is going to be in the "real" world. The most surprising
and depressing thing I've encountered at the Alamo is the abundence of
people with college degrees that can not find a "job", so they work
instead for very low wages. This is no doubt part of the
consequences of our current economic plight.
However, I am happy
to announce that I have interviewed for a paying entry level position
in the department, and I got the job! I am looking forward to
starting my journey up the corporate ladder!
