Mission Statement

To stimulate activity and a feeling of fellowship among sociology students,
to explore issues in, and the application of, the discipline of sociology, and to promote the academic and professional development of student sociologists.

Officer & Contact Information

President: Kimberly Torres-Mendez

Kimberly Torres-Mendez is a first-generation student in the senior year of her undergraduate degree at Texas State University. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Applied Sociology with a Minor in Business. Kimberly has lived most of her life in Kyle, Texas. She is the youngest of three. She is currently interning with the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. After nearly one year of being a member of the Sociology Club, she has been elected as Vice President of the Sociology Club at Texas State. She hopes to pursue a career in which she can do research and provide resources to Latino business owners to help reach their business goals.
