Mission Statement
To stimulate activity and a feeling of fellowship among sociology students,
to explore issues in, and the application of, the discipline of sociology,
and to promote the academic and professional development of student sociologists.

I’m Michael Whitehawk. I’m happy to have spent my adult life as part of the Department of Sociology here at Texas State. My undergraduate and graduate degrees are from here, and I became a full-time senior lecturer in 2012. That’s why I am so thrilled to have become the faculty advisor to the Sociology Club. I was a member 20 years ago! I will do all I can to assist this student-lead club be successful and meet is goals of student and community engagement, and put into action the principles of the sociological perspective.
